2,6-Dichloropurine (CAS: 5451-40-1) is used an important pharmaceutical intermediate, used as anti-tumor and anti-viral drug intermediates. Intermediate of Cefepime, Cefepime is a new fourth-generation parenteral cephalosporine antibiotic launched in 1993 in Sweden and France. 2,6-Dichloropurine also can be used to synthesize 2,6-Dichloropurine riboside (CAS: 13276-52-3), Fludarabine (CAS: 21679-14-1) and 2-Chloroadenine (CAS: 1839-18-5) and other nucleoside products. It is used in the synthesis of 2,6-diamino-substituted purine derivatives as potential cardiomyogenesis inducing agents.
