Boc-3-Hydroxy-1-Adamantyl-D-Glycine (CAS: 361442-00-4) is an intermediate of Saxagliptin (CAS: 361442-04-8). Saxagliptin is a potent and selective reversible inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase-4, which is being developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is absorbed rapidly after oral administration an d has a pharmacokinetic profile compatible with once daily dosing. Saxagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor antidiabetic for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. DPP-4 inhibitors are a class of compounds that work by affecting the action of natural hormones in the body called incretins. Saxagliptin is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Saxagliptin is not for treating type 1 diabetes. Saxagliptin is sometimes used in combination with other diabetes medications. It was reached by the cooperation of AstraZeneca and Bristol-Myers Squibb Company and belongs to DPP-IV inhibitor.
