5-Fluorouracil (CAS: 51-21-8), RNA and DNA synthesis inhibitor, 5-Fluorouracil (CAS: 51-21-8) is an anticancer agent. Metabolized to form fluorodeoxyuridine monophosphate (FdUMP), fluorodeoxyuridine triphosphate (FdUTP) and fluorouridine (FUTP). FdUMP inhibits thymidylate synthase, causing a reduction in dTMP synthesis. FUTP and FdUTP are misincorporated into RNA and DNA respectively.
5-Fluorouracil (CAS: 51-21-8) is short for fluorouracil, and is pyrimidine antimetabolites, 5-fluorouracil as fluorouracil for pyrimidine antimetabolites, is currently clinically commonly used a chemotherapy drug, having effect on proliferation, can prevent the thymine formation, inhibition of DNA biosynthesis, thereby inhibiting the growth of cancer cells. Clinically, it is used to treat gastrointestinal tumors, such as stomach cancer, colon cancer, liver cancer and so on.
