Pd2(dba)3 is used in combination with different ligands to form in situ zero-valent palladium active substance with high catalytic activity, which has been widely used in carbon-carbon bond formation reactions and carbon-heteroatomic bond formation reactions. It has high catalytic activity in the coupling reaction of chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbons with phenylboric acid. Pd2(dba)3 is used in the preparation of semiconducting polymers processed from nonchlorinated solvents into high performance thin film transistors. Also used in the synthesis of polymer bulk-heterojunction solar sells as a semiconductor.
