6-Carboxyfluorescein N-Hydroxysuccinimide Ester (6-FAM SE) (CAS: 92557-81-8) is an isomer of carboxyfluorescein, is a commonly used fluorescent reagent for the labelling of peptides, proteins, nucleic acid sequencing and labeling of nucleotides.
Fluorescent labeling dyes play an increasingly important role in biological analysis, especially 6-carboxyfluorescein has become an international fluorescent dye for detecting protein and DNA sequence.
An amine-reactive succinimidyl ester carboxyfluorescein that yields carboxyamides which are more resistant to hydrolysis than fluorescein conjugates prepared with FITC.
6-FAM SE is an N-hydroxysuccinimide ester derived from 6-carboxyfluorescein. A fluorescent cell staining dye, it is cell permeable and covalently couples, via its succinimidyl group, to intracellular molecules, notably to intracellular lysine residues. It has a role as a fluorochrome. It is functionally related to a fluorescein (lactone form).
