Pyridine aldehydes are typically prepared by oxidation of the hydroxymethyl- or methylpyridines. 2-Pyridinecarboxaldehyde is one of three isomeric pyridinaldehydes. The other isomers are Pyridine-3-Carboxaldehyde (CAS: 500-22-1) and Pyridine-4-Carboxaldehyde (CAS: 872-85-5).
