(1R)-(+)-α-Pinene (CAS: 7785-70-8) is an organic compound of the terpene class, one of two isomers of pinene. It is an alkene and it contains a reactive four-membered ring. (1R)-(+)-α-Pinene is isolated from gum turpentine oil or other essential oil rich in aplha piene, it's largely used as starting material for the synthesis of terpineol, camphor, dihydromyrcenol, borneol, sandenol and terpene resin. (1R)-(+)-α-Pinene may be used as chiral catalysts. (1R)-(+)-α-Pinene is employed in the preparation of chiral hydroboration reagents. (1R)-(+)-α-Pinene is used in hydroboration reactions and the reduction of ketones. It can be used as flavors and fragrances used in daily chemicals. (+)-α-Pinene is a monoterpenoid compound mainly found in pinus species. Used as pharmaceuticals / chemical raw materials and intermediates, this product is an optical resolution agent and can also be used in other fields. Pinene as the spice little used to daily flavor of bergamot, bay leaves, lavender, and lemon, nutmeg and other edible flavor. Its main use is after pyrolysis, become myrcene, and synthesis of geraniol, nerol, linalool, citronellol, citronella, citral, ionone and other important spices. (1R)-(+)-α-Pinene is an anti-inflammatory and used as a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It exhibits activity as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, aiding memory.
